Resources

The resources listed on this page are of two general types:

(1) Primary Sources – Declassified documents obtained by the author through submitting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the U.S. government, and

(2) Secondary Sources – Relevant books and articles.

All resources appearing here can be sorted by these source types and by source topic. Please note that the source topics “Atrocities and Perpetrators” and “Transitional Justice” feature sub-topics for further search refinement.

Once you conduct the above selection and sorting, resources appear by date or title. If you choose to sort resources by date, they will appear in reverse chronological order; if two resources feature the same date, they are then sorted alphabetically. If you choose to sort resources by title, they will appear in alphabetical order.

Note that resource dates feature varying levels of specificity. The hierarchy for this sorting is:

(1) Resources dated by year only

(2) Resources dated by month and year only

(3) Resources dated by month, year, and day

(4) Resources with no associated date

Please note that not all resource filtering features are supported on smaller screens (e.g., mobile devices).
